Seattle Studio Maternity Photos

When planning outfits for studio sessions, consistency in color depth is key.

Light outfits: pair light with light. Soft, airy tones photograph best together and keep the look clean and cohesive.

Dark outfits: pair dark with dark. Deeper shades create a rich, dramatic feel when styled together.

Avoid mixing light and dark within the same grouping, as strong contrast can feel visually distracting in a studio setting.

Keeping everyone in the same light range—either all light or all dark—creates a polished, intentional look on camera.

Let texture do the work: fabrics like chunky knits, lace details, ribbed materials, and layered clothing add interest without distraction. Please skip patterns, florals, stripes, polka dots, wording, or logos.

Complement rather than copy: outfits should feel cohesive, not uniform—avoid dressing everyone in the same color or style.
