It’s not too late to photograph your baby
What If You Missed Photographing your baby in the first two weeks?
Hey there, I get it—those first couple of weeks with a newborn are a whirlwind, and sometimes scheduling a photoshoot is the last thing on your mind. If your baby is already past that two-week mark, don’t worry—it’s absolutely not too late to capture beautiful memories.
Here’s what I tell parents in your shoes: while the first two weeks are ideal for those sleepy, curled-up poses, older babies bring a whole new kind of magic to their photos.
Let’s highlight their personality
At this stage, your baby is more alert and expressive, which means we can capture those sparkling eyes, tiny smirks, and the beginnings of their personality. These moments are just as precious! This little one was 5 weeks new.
Flexible posing options
Whatever age your baby arrives in studio, I will flow with baby and what they are able to do. Older babies may not be able to do a frog pose, but they’re always perfect for photos. Every stage of babyhood offers something special to photograph.
Plan for future milestones
If you’d rather wait, milestones like tummy time (around 3 months) or sitting up unassisted (6-9 months) are wonderful opportunities for a session. Babies grow so fast—there’s always a milestone worth celebrating.
The standard window for newborn photographers
Many newborn photographers will only consider a session when baby is 2 weeks and under, for all of these reasons. As long as parents are flexible in what we capture and will allow me to flow with baby that day (always my request), then I’m happy to do photos at ANY age.

If you’re feeling unsure about what’s possible, let’s chat! I’d love to hear about your baby and help you create photos you’ll treasure for a lifetime. No matter your baby’s age, we can make magic happen.
