When Should You Book Your Newborn Photos?

(Spoiler: Before Baby Arrives!)

If you're expecting and thinking “I’ll figure out newborn photos once the baby’s here”—I get it. There’s a lot going on. But I promise, booking your session before baby arrives is one of the best things you can do to make life easier later. Here’s why:

1. It Takes One Big Thing Off Your Plate

Those first few days with a newborn? Magical—but also kind of a blur. If your session is already scheduled, you won’t be frantically Googling photographers between feedings. You’ll just be able to enjoy those sleepy snuggles, knowing it’s all taken care of.

2. It Locks In Your Spot

I only book a limited number of newborn sessions each month (usually 6–8) so I can give each family plenty of time and flexibility. Even if my calendar looks open, once those spots fill up, that’s it for the month. Booking early means you’re guaranteed a place on my schedule.

3. You Can Focus on What Really Matters

Booking early means one less thing to think about later—so you can focus on your baby, your recovery, and your new little family.

4. What If Baby Comes Early (or my health gets complicated)?

No stress—we’ll talk. I’ve been a new mom too. We’ll work around whatever comes up and find a time that feels good for you to come into the studio.

5. Babies Grow So Fast

I’ve had so many parents reach out after baby arrives, realizing they missed that tiny newborn window. These early days go by in a blink—booking ahead makes sure you don’t miss capturing those little details you’ll never get back.

6. Everything’s Already Planned

No surprises here—I’ll style the session with you in advance, walk you through everything, and make sure it’s all ready before baby arrives.

7. Want Hair + Makeup? We Can Do That Too

When you book early, we have a better shot at scheduling one of my go-to hair and makeup artists. She’ll come to the studio the morning of your session—while you’re getting pampered, I’ll be photographing your sweet baby. Win-win.

So if you’re expecting, let’s chat! Booking ahead means peace of mind—and beautiful memories, ready to be made. 💛
