Running late to your newborn photo shoot?

Running Late for Your Studio Photography Session? Here’s What to Do

I Totally Get It!
As a newborn photographer – and a parent – I understand how hard it can be to get out the door with a new baby. Between unexpected diaper changes, last-minute outfit swaps, and figuring out the timing, it’s completely normal to run a bit behind. I give every family a 20-minute grace period for exactly these reasons, so don’t stress if you’re only a couple minutes late. I always appreciate a text with your ETA when you get in the car.

Let Me Know If You’re Delayed
If you find you’re running late, please just send me a quick text with an updated ETA. I’ll do my best to adjust the schedule to make things work. If you’re more than 10 minutes late for a mini session or 20 minutes late for a full session, though, I will assess a late fee to account for the additional coordination on my end – just like any professional appointment.

Full Session Time Matters
To create those beautiful, timeless images, we need the entire session time for soothing, posing, feeding breaks, and capturing each setup. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, you may need to rebook, as cutting down the session would affect the experience and reduce the variety of images I can capture – and ultimately, the number of images in your final gallery.

Please remember, as outlined in the terms of service contract, a shortened session may still be subject to a new booking fee, as it impacts my schedule and ability to provide a complete gallery. I know things don’t always go as planned, and I appreciate your courtesy in helping us start on time to create the best experience for you.

Planning Tips to Keep Things on Track
Planning ahead can make all the difference! Start getting ready at least 30 minutes earlier than you think you’ll need. Pre-pack the diaper bag and any session essentials the night before to help ease the morning rush. If family photos are scheduled for the end, feel free to finish your hair and makeup at the studio – I have a bathroom, mirror, and outlets ready for you. I also offer a hair and makeup artist service to make the day even easier!

What About Outdoor Sessions?
Outdoor sessions are a bit different because we rely on natural light, usually just before sunset. Unfortunately, if you’re more than 15 minutes late, you will have to rebook and pay a new booking fee. Timing is essential to capturing those golden light moments!

Running late happens, and I’ll do all I can to make your experience relaxed and enjoyable. Looking forward to capturing these precious moments for you!
