natural whites unposed newborn photography
Not every family wants a really posed newborn session.
Sometimes you just want beautiful photos of your new baby, your family together, and all those little moments that happen naturally during the first couple of weeks.
That’s why I’ve started offering this new natural and unposed newborn session in my Redmond studio.
It’s a little different from my regular Signature Newborn Sessions. There are fewer setups and less posing, and we spend more time photographing your family just being together.
We'll get photos of baby alone, mom and baby, dad and baby, siblings, and everyone together. I’ll still guide you throughout the session (I promise I won't just leave you wondering what to do!), but the overall feel is much more relaxed.
And your baby definitely doesn't need to sleep the whole time.
Some of my favorite photos are actually when babies are awake—stretching, yawning, looking around or just curled up in mom or dad's arms. And with older siblings, I love letting them interact with the new baby and seeing what happens. Those little kisses, cuddles and curious looks are often the photos parents end up loving the most.
We'll still create some simple portraits of your newborn alone, but the focus of these sessions is really on your baby and your family as you are right now.
What Should You Wear?
For these sessions, I ask families to stick with white, cream and off-white tops and dresses.
There’s a reason for it! My studio is very light and neutral, and keeping everyone in these softer colors helps the photos have that beautiful, bright and simple look you see here. It also keeps the focus where I want it—on your baby and your family, rather than on everyone's clothing.
You absolutely don't need to be dressed head-to-toe in white. Jeans or khakis are totally fine for pants. I just recommend keeping the tops light and neutral and avoiding bold colors, busy patterns or large logos.
Don't worry about finding something special for your newborn—I have simple wraps and outfits here that photograph beautifully with this style.

When Should You Book?
I recommend booking before your baby is born. That way I can save space around your due date and we can schedule once baby arrives.
These sessions are best for babies 2 weeks old and under, when they're still in that wonderfully tiny newborn stage.
If you've been looking for a Seattle newborn photographer but want something a little more natural, simple and unposed, this might be exactly what you're looking for.
Nothing complicated. Just beautiful photos of your brand-new baby and the people who already love them so much.
